Hi Rosh,
                 I could able to ssh to the machine where I can deploy the VM and I removed 3D from the configuration. Now also I am facing the same issue. The log is not giving much info. It is saying "Deploying a VM" and VM is failing.
Let us know how can we proceed.

Thanks,
Harish

Could you ssh to the machine that attempted to bring up the VM and post the contents of the "deployment.0" file for VM 13. Also, post the VM 13 log on the ONE controller machine.

The file you attached has the following ONE template as part of the contents. It seems corrupted - notice the "3D" chars all over the place.

<quote>

NAME=3DLinux

CPU=3D0.25

MEMORY=3D128

OS=3D[type=3Dhvm, boot=3Dhd]

DISK =3D[source=3D"/root/teaas/images/Vyatta.img", clone=3Dyes, target=3Dhd=

a, readonly=3Dno]

NIC=3D[network =3D"Private_VLAN"]

GRAPHICS =3D[type =3D"vnc",listen =3D"127.0.0.1", port =3D "1"]
</quote>

Hi Jack,
    Thank you very much for the answer. This solved the problem and able to boot Windows Vista. But I am still having no clue on booting any VM using Opennebula 1.4. Please find the enclosed mail for the details. It would be great if somebody can throw some light on this issue.

Awaiting your response.
Thanks in Advance.

Thanks,
Harish

I believe the correct setting is:

FEATURES = [ acpi="yes" ]

Dear All,
              I thought some configuration regarding ACPI is not proper, then I added the following line to config.txt,
FEATURES=[acpi={yes}]
Now also I am getting the same error ("Windows failed to load because the firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible")when the VM boots up. Also configuration parameter of acpi is not getting updated in the deployment.0 file. I tried with both the configuration parameter of yes as well as no. But still I am getting the same above error.

Please suggest how to go about solving this issue.

Thanks and Regards,
Harish

Subject: Problem deploying Windows Vista VM in opennebula 1.2

Dear All,
             I am able to deploy windows XP image and some Linux images using opennebula 1.2 on Fedora core 12 with KVM. I could able to add the host machine using onehost command successfully. When I tried to deploy the Windows Vista VM using "onevm create config.txt",
Config.txt file is as follows,
NAME=WinVista
CPU=0.25
MEMORY=1024
OS=[type=hvm, boot=hd]
DISK =[source="/root/teaas/images/winvista.img", clone=yes, target=hda, readonly=no]
NIC=[network ="Private_VLAN"]
GRAPHICS =[type ="vnc",listen ="127.0.0.1", port = "1"]

The status of onevm shows running but if I see the virtual machine console, it is throwing the error "Windows failed to load because the firmware (BIOS) is not ACPI compatible". Do I need to add any more configurations for ACPI in config.txt, please let me know.

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks and Regards,
Harish
