[one-users] 4.8 with vSphere single node datastores

Hi Stan,

In order to configure correctly OpenNebula to use storage datastores,
the steps are:

 - Mount (as you did) datastores in the ESX hosts as "0" (system
datastore) and "1" (image datastore)
 - Configure OpenNebula to use these datastores:

      - If the installation is only to manage VMware ESX hosts, then
change oned.conf to reflect DATASTORE_BASE_PATH = /vmfs/volumes

     - Change drivers of 0 and 1 datastores to "vmfs" (the only
acceptable drivers for VMware datastore management)

     - Update image datastore (ID=1) so the BRIDGE_LIST pointing to at
least one ESX hypervisor with the "1" image datastore mounted

Images are registered pointing PATH to a folder containing the .vmdk
file. Hosts are added with the "vmware" drivers (need to be enabled in
oned.conf)

As a reference, you can follow the quick start guide:
http://docs.opennebula.org/4.8/design_and_installation/quick_starts/qs_centos_vmware.html

Best,

-Tino

The hosts have status "on" etc. However, the datastores appear empty and VMs will not instantiate. I guess I do not really understand why these datastores are set to /vmfs/volumes and are also mounted. Perhaps I am mixing methods. I would like to use the esx datastores only and the front end just for staging.
