Hello,

I'd like to hear your suggestion on creating permanent virtual machines. The use case I'd like to implement is the following:
1. Create a template
2. Instantiate a number of VMs from this template
3. Configure manually every VM
4. Automatically save the VM state so as to be able to shut it down completely and bring it back later, in the same state it was (as if it is a physical server with local hard disks).

Until now I can only think of implementing this with the use of different permanent images and one template per image. Yet this function adds quite a lot administrative cost and unless automated is quite error prone.

Any suggestions ?
