That might break the cloud model. If you have to make such a massive change in your running vms you might as well create a new template from one running and add the nic to it and roll it into the current system. You can always hot plug with extra vms directly from the hosts.<br>

not sure how this would interact with the hypervisor, perhaps a call<br>
to a new vmm script (for hypervisors that can do NIC hotplug).<br>

Perhaps an "unassign" call would make sense too (hot remove of IP Leases).<br>
