I am "starting out" at home on hardware with an OS installed and I can
not easily change that (it's already being used for other things).
Unfortunately the hardware running Fedora 17 (a Mac mini with 16 GB of
RAM) won't run CentOS 6 as that doesn't provide the right UEFI boot
loaders on the install image. In any case the other PC also does stuff
and one of the reasons for wanting to get something like OpenNebula up
is that I won't have to worry so much about the hardware in the future
and will be able to run all the real services in VMs. OpenNebula
should make that easier than running straight on virt-manager.

I am sure I can not be the only one in this situation, so allowing
OpenNebula to work (reasonably easily) on a wide range of Linux OSes
is I think good.

If I see that this works well then perhaps I'll push for its usage at
work where there are a much larger number of servers running and for
some systems OpenNebula might be a better solution than the one being
used at the moment.

Simon
