But as per “Marketplace” portal , the ready made appliance for ESX hypervisor is with *.vmdk extension.

 

Any additional steps to be carried out after running “qemu-img” ?

Hi,

Just use qemu-image like qemu-image convert -f vmdk image.vmdk -O raw image.raw and it will do it.
