[one-users] specifying network options?

Hello,

OpenNebula itself does not take netmask and gateway into account. The
way it works is that the ip assigned is used to generate a mac address
that is assigne to the VM. There are several ways to pass network
information to the VM, the simplest one is to get the ip from the mac
address itself at startup and set the other values to sensible
defaults. This is expained in the last section of
http://opennebula.org/documentation:rel1.4:vgg

A better way would be to use contextualization disk, this is explained
here: http://opennebula.org/documentation:rel1.4:cong

Another way can be creating a dhcp server with configuration for each
network (4 least significant bytes are in fact the ip, easy to map) so
you can pass this info.

Getting this values (NETMASK and GATEWAY) from the network using
contextualization disk method is still not supported but it will be in
1.6 http://dev.opennebula.org/issues/197

Bye
